Getting To Know Your Camera

Inserting SD and 4G SIM Card
Both SD card and SIM card need to be inserted with the metal contacts facing towards the bottom of the camera.
The slots are spring-loaded, and you’ll feel them click in when inserted correctly.
To remove, push inwards and allow the spring to push the card out. Use the supplied tweezers to remove.
Note: SD memory card may be pre-inserted.
Maximum SD card support is 128GB.

Charge While In Use
The camera must be sealed at all time to prevent water ingress using the rubber guard.

Ensure the seal is tight and secure on the camera. When not charging, re-insert rubber bung.

Remove rubber bung to access USB-C charge port. Insert charging cable firmly. When removing cable, hold down large rubber guard to prevent it detaching from the camera.

3. USING THE APP

App controls
- Access device settings.
- 1. Signal indicator. 2. Battery status. 3. Current veiwers.
- Switch between high definition HD (recommended) or standard definition SD. HD will work better with higher 4G signal.
- Swap between standard night vision (red dot icon) or colour night vision (light bulb icon).
- Full screen view.
- Speak through your cameras speaker.
- Listen via the devices microphone.
- Take a still image of the current live view.
- Swap between SD card and cloud storage. Cloud storage is optional at an extra cost. Camera automatically stores on SD card free of charge (recommended).
- Start recording live video.
- After selecting SD card storage, you will be able to view camera activations here. Watching & downloading footage will use your 4G data.
4. CAMERA SETTINGS
Access your camera settings by clicking on the settings cog.
This is a brief overview of settings. Please contact Spotted Cameras directly if you need further assistance.

Camera settings guide
- Change device name.
- Turn off cloud storage (recommended).
- Change image orientation.
- Turn IR night vision on permanently.
- Adjust activation sensitivity (see below).
- Adjust recorded clip length after activation.
- Adjust power frequency.
- Turn off LED indicator (full stealth mode).
- Adjust time settings.
5. DETECTION SETTINGS
When your camera detects motion and sends a notification, this will use a small amount of data and battery power. Your camera remains in a power saving mode, and wakes up when motion is detected.
If you are getting false alarms, you can adjust the sensitivity accordingly.

Best for livestock monitoring - Turn off motion detection. Only wakes up when you remotely access it in the app. This saves battery and 4G data.
Best for wildlife watching - Enable motion detection. Set sensitivity to high. Turn off human detection. This will wake the camera when any motion is detected - even smaller animals.
Best for general security - Enable motion detection. Set sensitivity to medium (depending on how far your camera is from the detection zone). Turn on human detection for more reliable alarms. Note: when human detection is on, cars will not trigger an alarm.
Note: Maximum detection zone 10-15m depending on settings.
SETUP HELP
Troubleshooting
Work through these checks if your camera will not start or connect.
Charge using USB-C
Connect the supplied USB-C charging cable to the camera’s USB-C 5V charge port and a suitable 5V USB power supply. Insert the cable firmly. If it does not appear to charge, try another working USB-C cable and 5V power supply, then check the camera’s Power On/Off switch.
Keep the large rubber guard secure while charging. Re-insert the rubber bung when the cable is removed. See “Charge While In Use” above.
What colour is the light on the front?
Check the small status light labelled in the front-camera diagram. Select the colour or pattern you see.
No light
Charge the camera using the USB-C 5V charge port, then check the Power On/Off switch. If the camera is still online in the app, check whether the LED indicator has been turned off in camera settings. No light alone does not confirm a flat battery.
Blue light flashing
Allow the camera to finish starting up and connecting. If it keeps flashing, check SIM activation and try another area with better 4G signal using steps 3 and 4 below.
Blue light solid
The camera is connected and working normally. Continue with “2. ADD DEVICE” above. If the app still shows the camera offline, check that your phone has an internet connection, reopen UBox and try the live view again.
Red light solid
The camera cannot connect to the internet. Check the SIM and 4G signal using steps 3 and 4 below.
Red and blue flashing
The manual identifies a SIM card or network configuration issue. Check SIM activation and insertion using step 3. If this continues, contact Spotted Cameras for help with the SIM or network configuration.
Check the SIM card
Make sure your SIM is activated and has an active data plan. Activation can take up to two hours from payment. After two hours, switch the camera off and on again.
If you need to check the card, switch the camera off first. The metal contacts must face towards the bottom of the camera and the card should click into place. Switch the camera back on afterwards.
For a Spotted Cameras multi-network SIM, contact Spotted Cameras directly. It will not work in a smartphone. For another provider’s SIM, the manual suggests testing it in a smartphone with WiFi turned off to see whether mobile data works.
Move to a different area
Try the camera in another area with better 4G signal, away from thick walls, metal enclosures or other obstructions. Give it time to connect, then check the front status light again.
A solid blue light confirms a connection. Test the live view in UBox at your intended camera location before fixing the camera in place.
Still unable to connect?
Contact Spotted Cameras with the front light colour or flashing pattern, your SIM provider, when the SIM was activated, and the charging and location checks you have tried.
SETUP FAQs
How much data will the camera use?
Most customers use around 1GB per month for security monitoring or wildlife watching, although heavier use such as frequent live viewing or playback may use 1–5GB per month.
How can I reduce data usage?
Use standard definition (SD) video, avoid long live viewing sessions, and only play back recordings when necessary. Download clips to your phone instead of repeatedly streaming them. Be conscious of how much you are accessing the camera. Adjust the motion detection setting to provide fewer alarms.
My camera will not connect. What should I check?
Make sure the SIM card is activated, inserted correctly, there is 4G signal at the location, and the camera has power. SIM cards can take up to two hours to activate from payment and require a device restart after two hours. A solid blue LED indicates a successful connection.
How can I check if my SIM works?
If you are using Spotted Cameras' multi-network SIM, contact us directly. If using another provider’s SIM, insert the SIM into a smartphone and turn off WiFi. If you can browse the internet using mobile data, the SIM is working. (Spotted Cameras SIM will not work in a smartphone.)
Why is my camera using data quickly?
Frequent live viewing, repeatedly watching recordings, or constant motion alerts in busy areas can increase data usage.
Can I view recordings remotely?
Yes. Recordings saved on the SD card can be viewed in the app, but streaming them will use mobile data.
Can I share the camera with other users?
Yes. Use the Share Device option in the app settings and enter the other user’s UBOX account email.
Battery Care
This camera uses a rechargeable lithium battery and is designed to operate in low-power standby mode to extend battery life. The camera wakes only when motion is detected or when you access the live view in the app.
Battery life will vary depending on usage. Frequent motion alerts, busy areas, and long periods of live viewing will cause the camera to wake more often and may reduce battery life.
For best performance, place the camera where unnecessary motion detection is limited and avoid excessive live streaming. If the battery becomes low, recharge the device as soon as possible.
