Will SmartSIM work in my area?

SmartSIM automatically connects to the strongest available network, meaning it works in areas where single-network SIMs often struggle. It’s ideal for farms, rural properties, and remote locations across the UK, Ireland, and Europe.

Do I need WiFi for SmartSIM to work?

No — SmartSIM is designed for locations without WiFi. It uses mobile networks to keep your camera connected wherever it’s installed.

How much data do I need?

This depends on how often you view your camera.

As a guide:
1GB = around 1.5 hours of live viewing
2GB = around 3 hours
4GB = around 6 hours

If your camera is in a busy area or you check it frequently, we recommend a higher data plan.

Can I use data plan multiple cameras?

Yes — SmartSIM allows you to share data across multiple SIMs on your account.

If you have more than one camera, your data plans are stacked together into one shared allowance, which all of your cameras can use. This means the data isn’t locked to a single SIM.

For example, if you have two cameras on 1GB plans, you’ll have 2GB of shared data across your account. One camera can use more data than the other, depending on your usage.

This gives you much more flexibility and can help reduce costs. Instead of putting a larger plan on every camera, you can choose smaller plans and let your cameras use the data where it’s needed most.

Does SmartSIM lock me into a contract?

No — all SmartSIM plans are contract-free. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time. Get in touch with our friendly support to make an changes to your account.

Will I receive alerts when motion is detected?

Yes. The camera includes smart motion detection, which sends instant notifications to your phone when activity is detected. The detect range of the camera is 3-5m.

Will SmartSIM work with any camera?

SmartSIM is specifically designed and optimised for Spotted Cameras to ensure the best performance and reliability. It is not compatible with other devices.

What happens if I run out of data?

If your data runs out, your camera will still continue recording — you just won’t be able to view it in the app until more data is added.

You can quickly top up using our automated data add-on system, so you’re never offline for long.
